Climate
Portugal is defined as having a Mediterranean climate but there is some variation between regions. In general, this means warm to hot, dry summers and mild to cool, wet winters.

Flora
The national flower of Portugal is Lavender, The Lavenders are a genus of about 25-30 species of flowering plants in the mint family and are used in cooking, the potency of the lavender flowers increases with drying. While the English lavender, yields a highly effective essential oil with very sweet overtones, and can be used in balms, salves, perfumes, cosmetics, and topical applications.


Fauna

The fauna of Portugal is a mixture of European and North African types. While Portugal does not have a national animal, many residents think of the rooster as the national symbol. One of the most beautiful creatures in the world, the lynx might be a rare spot, located up in the Malcata mountains. Another which is slowly dying out, with under 300 believed to be left, the Iberian Wolf are certainly a rare sight.
